Chandler Community Gears Up for a Month of Charitable Events

September 2025 Brings a Series of Fundraisers and Volunteer Opportunities

As September 2025 unfolds, the Chandler community is set to host a variety of charity events aimed at supporting local causes and fostering community spirit.

On September 6, the Matthew's Crossing Food Bank is organizing a Community Garage Sale Fundraiser at Famous Dave’s, located at 3250 W. Frye Road. Residents are encouraged to donate items ranging from furniture and home goods to clothing and toys. The event runs from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., offering a chance to declutter while supporting a vital local resource.

The following day, September 7, the Semicolon Society will host its 3rd Annual Suicide Prevention Gathering and Vigil at the Chandler Community Center, 125 E. Commonwealth Avenue. Scheduled from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., this event aims to raise awareness and provide support for those affected by suicide.

On September 9, the City of Chandler Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Division, in collaboration with the ARISE Alliance Institute, is bringing back the Building Better Mental Health series. Licensed clinical social worker Estefana Johnson will lead a workshop focusing on understanding stress responses and regulating the nervous system. The session will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Downtown Chandler Library, 22 S. Delaware St. A subsequent workshop is scheduled for September 23, concentrating on setting boundaries and building community strength.

For golf enthusiasts, the Chandler Chamber of Commerce is hosting its 24th Annual Charity Golf Tournament on September 26 at the Ocotillo Golf Club, 3751 S. Clubhouse Dr. The event aims to raise scholarship funds for the Chandler Chamber Community Foundation, supporting students attending Chandler-Gilbert Community College. The day begins with breakfast and registration at 6:00 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m.

Additionally, the Live Love organization continues its tradition of monthly Serve Days, with the next event scheduled for September 20. Volunteers will gather at The Oasis - Live Love Community Center, 482 E. Erie St., from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., to assist with yard work, minor home repairs, and food delivery, making a tangible difference in the lives of local residents.

These events underscore Chandler's commitment to community engagement and support. Residents are encouraged to participate, whether by volunteering, donating, or simply attending, to help strengthen the bonds that make Chandler a vibrant and caring community.
